The organic fertilizers produced at Pendik Municipality’s Compost Production Facility in Güllübağlar help make plants used in homes and gardens more productive. Pendik Municipality gifts two packs of organic fertilizer to anyone who visits the facility and requests them.

Established in recent years as part of Pendik Municipality’s zero waste and recycling initiatives, the Compost Production Facility processes tons of waste each week, converting them into organic fertilizer. These fertilizers are used by municipal teams in landscaping and afforestation projects across the district, and now Pendik residents can also benefit from them.

Two Packs of Organic Fertilizer Gifted to Support Home Gardening

The organic fertilizer enhances the productivity of plants used in homes and gardens. For this reason, anyone who visits the waste collection center in Güllübağlar and requests organic fertilizer is gifted two packs free of charge.

How Does the Compost Production Facility Work?

The compost center, with a weekly processing capacity of 3,500 liters of organic and biodegradable waste, transforms food waste into organic fertilizer. Organic waste collected from the municipality’s soup kitchen and local markets is brought to the facility, where it goes through shredding, fermentation, and maturation processes. The resulting organic fertilizer, obtained through a soil enrichment process, is then used in landscaping and afforestation projects throughout Pendik.
