Cleaning Services Directorate
The Cleaning Services Directorate operates in accordance with the ISO 14001 Environmental Quality Management System to provide efficient cleaning services that meet ideal living standards within the district, protect public and environmental health, and serve our citizens in the most effective and accessible way. With the collective effort of all staff, the Directorate aims to make Pendik a clean and livable city. The Directorate carries out the following activities:
DUTIES
Follow the legislation related to the Directorate’s fields of activity and fulfill the legal requirements within the specified time.
Conduct and complete all necessary procedures with other administrative bodies.
Execute activities in line with the strategic plan, annual performance program, investment program, and the Directorate’s budget.
Carry out necessary actions to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the Pendik Municipality Internal Control Action Plan.
Respond to incoming letters and petitions according to Law No. 3071.
Provide information and documents to applicants within the framework of Law No. 4982 on the Right to Information, with the knowledge and approval of the Mayor or relevant Deputy Mayor, except for the exemptions specified by law.
Within the scope of Law No. 4734 on Public Procurement, prepare and finalize the payments, acceptances, and procurement procedures for all goods, services, and construction works required by the Directorate.
Conduct necessary studies to determine the municipality’s medium- and long-term strategies and policies.
Ensure that records of all Directorate activities are maintained; archive, protect, and preserve them as necessary.
Communicate and correspond with other municipal units, official institutions, professional chambers, and parties involved in procurement processes when required.
Provide data to the Press and Public Relations Directorate for announcements and promotion related to the Directorate’s responsibilities.
Develop solutions for district cleaning and environmental issues and coordinate with the necessary institutions, organizations, and authorities.
Combat zoonotic, epidemic, and infectious diseases by taking preventive measures and coordinating with relevant authorities.
Implement vector control measures against pests, flies, rodents, and other harmful species that negatively affect public and environmental health, using methods compatible with human physical and mental health.
Establish shelters or natural habitats for stray animals in accordance with Law No. 5199 on the Protection of Animals, ensuring the health, controlled reproduction, vaccination, marking, and adoption of the animals.
Operate municipal animal care facilities to shelter and care for stray or weakened dogs until they can be adopted.
Allocate a minimum of 0.5% of the municipal budget revenue to activities related to the rehabilitation of stray animals, as required by Law No. 5199.
Conduct educational campaigns on zoonotic and infectious animal diseases through posters, brochures, and written and visual media.
Inspect sacrificial animals brought to markets for Kurban Bayram for health and suitability.
Provide in-service and external training on the Directorate’s core areas, including environmental cleaning, animal diseases, food safety, zoonotic control, and vector control.
Collaborate with NGOs and official institutions to promote animal protection and awareness of animal welfare, and organize various citizen-oriented activities.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on road sweeping vehicles under the Directorate.
