Duties of the Municipal Police Directorate
Monitor legislation related to the Directorate’s activities and fulfill the requirements of the legislation within the prescribed time.
Carry out and finalize necessary procedures with other governmental authorities.
Execute activities in line with the strategic plan, annual performance program, investment program, and Directorate budget.
Perform necessary tasks to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the Pendik Municipality Internal Control Action Plan.
Respond to incoming letters and petitions within the prescribed period. According to Law No. 3071, provide written information within 30 days for applications made by petition and additionally inform of the outcome when the process has been announced.
With the knowledge and approval of the Mayor or relevant Deputy Mayor, provide the applicant with access to information and documents within the scope of Law No. 4982 on the Right to Information, except for cases of exemption.
Arrange payments and approvals for all procurement, service, and construction works needed by the Directorate under Public Procurement Law No. 4734.
Work on determining the municipality’s medium- and long-term strategies and policies and forming objectives.
Maintain records of all transactions performed by the Directorate and ensure archiving, protection, and preservation if necessary.
Correspond with other municipal units, official institutions, professional chambers, and parties involved in procurement processes as required.
Provide necessary data to the Press, Publication, and Public Relations Directorate for announcements and promotions related to the Directorate’s scope of work.
Law Enforcement and Public Order Duties
Take necessary actions against those violating municipal regulations, fines, and bans established by the municipal council and executive committee.
Prevent unauthorized and unregistered commercial activities (mobile vendors, sellers, buyers, collectors, etc.) and, if necessary, confiscate materials following Law No. 5393. Return items with a penalty under Law No. 5326 and deliver unclaimed scrap to recycling facilities.
Prevent unauthorized occupation of streets, squares, markets, piers, bridges, public buildings, inns, and passages.
Prevent the placement of tables, chairs, and displays outside shops without permission.
Prevent illegal advertising, signs, or banners on buildings and sidewalks.
Prevent loud sales, announcements, and promotions using megaphones or sound amplifiers.
Grant permits for advertisements, stands, banners, and take enforcement measures if they are not removed within the allowed time.
Prevent improper disposal of debris, tree branches, or garden waste in streets and sidewalks.
Prevent the transport of unpleasant-smelling or harmful waste (offal, raw hides, etc.) and ensure proper measures for animals.
Prevent unauthorized slaughtering of animals in public areas and improper keeping of unregistered, unnumbered, or unvaccinated animals.
Ensure order, hygiene, and compliance in permanent and temporary markets, including sale of permitted products, pricing, labeling, and inspection of weighing scales.
Inspect workplaces and factories for compliance with occupational licenses, hygiene, fire safety, and proper storage conditions.
Monitor compliance with the Law on the Prevention and Control of Tobacco Products (No. 4207) and ensure workplace regulations are followed.
Ensure environmental protection by preventing unauthorized waste disposal, construction debris, noise pollution, excavation, and water pollution in public areas.
Issue temporary permits for structures such as pergolas, canopies, ATMs, or base stations.
Ensure security in municipal buildings and facilities and coordinate safety for all municipal events.
Inspect compliance with weekly holiday regulations and other labor-related obligations.
Oversee proper and safe sales and slaughter of sacrificial animals during religious holidays.
Issue workplace licenses for all sanitary, public, and entertainment venues and enforce penalties for illegal, immoral, or unauthorized activities.
Evaluate applications regarding electricity, water, natural gas subscriptions, and building construction dates in accordance with zoning laws.
