INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

In accordance with Law No. 5018 on Public Financial Management and Control, it is mandated that an internal audit unit reporting directly to the senior management be established within public administrations. Accordingly, the Pendik Municipality Internal Audit Unit was established on 05.08.2008.

DUTIES

Internal audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity conducted to add value to and improve the operations of the public administration by evaluating whether resources are managed according to principles of economy, efficiency, and effectiveness, and providing guidance.

The primary objective of internal audit is to assist municipal units in achieving their goals by systematically and disciplinedly assessing, in line with generally accepted international internal audit standards, the risk management, internal control, and corporate governance processes of the municipality’s management and control structures and financial transactions, and providing guidance where needed.
